Founded in 2001 by Ira Hielscher, ANIMOD sold “pretty much anything” in its early stages, via an eBay account. The Cologne business woman offered all kinds of goods – from Teddy Bears to desks coming from office closures. In 2002 Ms. Hielscher decided to specialize in Hotel and Travel Vouchers. All business activities were carried out in her living room at that time. In 2003, ANIMOD moved to its first office in Cologne, Germany.
Since then, ANIMOD has been growing continuously, expanding its operations and utilizing new distribution channels. As managing director, Ira Hielscher developed ANIMOD from a micro business into a prosperous brokerage for Hotel and Travel Vouchers, with more than 30 employees, and has established ANIMOD as THE specialist in this segment.

Offering a wide selection of 4 and 5 star Hotels and superior Customer Service are the top priorities for ANIMOD. 2. Constant Growth
ANIMOD continues to attract more and more customers. In the first half of 2011 new customer registration increased by 30% on ANIMOD’s web shop www.ANIMOD.com (and .de). This growth is specifically based on the expansion of ANIMOD’s offers: in 2011 alone, we acquired close to 50 new hotel partners. At the moment, ANIMOD offers its customers, vouchers for more than 800 4* and 5* hotels in 18 countries worldwide. ANIMOD is constantly growing and continuously expanding its distribution network thereby gaining new customers. In 2010, the company had increased its business volume by 120% compared to 2009. Also, the number of customers has grown very rapidly, due to our variety of offers and optimized marketing strategy. In 2009, ANIMOD acquired over 31,000 new customers, and in 2010 about 64,000.
3. National and International Activities
Through our website, ANIMOD offers Vouchers for high quality hotels at a great price. These Vouchers are also distributed via numerous online platforms and distribution partners in Germany and abroad. Due to cooperation with partners in the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland, ANIMOD is offering Vouchers especially for the Dutch and Eastern European market. Furthermore, ANIMOD is active on the US market with two partner enterprises. ANIMOD constantly seeks and utilizes additional distribution channels. In addition to launching a new live-shopping application, the company also works closely with several advertising and coupon partners.
